Stunning slab of spalted Spotted Gum timber sourced from a block of land in Hastings. This slab was cut from a Spotted Gum tree that had fallen and had some time in the moist grassy area where the spalting has been able to form. 
 
What is Spalting? 
- Spalting is any form of wood colouration caused by fungi. Dark dotting, winding lines and thin streaks of red, brown and black are known as zone lines. This type of spalting does not occur due to any specific type of fungus, but is instead an interaction zone in which different fungi have erected barriers to protect their resources. The unique colour and patterns of spalted wood are very sought-after.
 
The body of this entertainment unit has been designed to stand out but be practical as well. The split X design with a shelf running through the middle of it has ample room and has been powder coated in a satin black for a very durable hardwearing finish. Made from steel tube and 2mm sheet steel for the shelf and tig welded joins for the most aesthetic and strongest weld possible.
